Family Guy

Let me first start by saying I love to laugh and i’m learning (more now as a husband and father) to not take myself so seriously and as people of God, Christians by name, it is my humble opinion that a lot of us have yet to learn that lesson…

Family Guy has to be one of the most controversial shows on regular TV simply because there is nothing they wont touch, no topic that is sacred, and no issue that is taboo for them. I must confess I was never a regular fan of the show but I have seen my fair share of Episodes, enough to tell you that though it’s made up of Cartoon Characters this show is in now way appropriate for all audiences (TVPG for Sure). Anyway in one of their recent shows they just briefly had a face off between Methodists and Adventists loosely describing some of their beliefs and the responses have been from one end of the spectrum to the other, here is the video clip..

I thought it was hilarious but from the comments on FB, Google+, and Twitter it’s clear that not everyone agrees and i’m not too proud to say I could be wrong but you’ll have to prove it to me. I’m all for being aware of the times we live in but I also feel we can’t take ourselves so seriously that we are offended by a 26 second parody of how other religions often treat Adventists as the crazy outcasts of Christianity I think they’re just pointing out the irony in a crazy mis-guided way that we should all expect from Hollywood.
